The Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on the evening of November 20th at the Corvallis Subway. The Subway clerk called 911 at about 9:40 p.m. stating that he was approached by a male with a gun. The gunman entered the business, pointed a silver handgun at the clerk and demanded all the money from the cash register.
The gunman was described as a male, approximately 6 feet 2 to 6 feet 3 inches tall, 160 to 180 pounds, wearing a black beanie, black sweatshirt, possible black pants, black knit gloves, and having a red or maroon scarf covering his face. The robber fled east on foot after taking approximately $382.00 in cash.

On October 19, 2008, Ravalli County Sheriff/Coroner Chris Hoffman released information that sheriff’s investigators and Ravalli County Search and Rescue volunteers had recovered human remains in the Little Rock Creek drainage approximately five miles west of Lake Como, in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness.
Today, Sheriff Hoffman has reported that the State Medical Examiner in Missoula has positively identified the remains as those of Robert Lynn Noble.
Mr. Noble had been reported missing by his family on July 24, 2006. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Little Rock Creek trailhead and located Robert Noble’s vehicle. That discovery triggered an extensive air and ground search involving Ravalli County Search and Rescue personnel and multiple agencies and organizations. The search included the above-mentioned drainage and surrounding areas and lasted more than two weeks. In the end, search and rescue teams were unable to locate Mr. Noble, and the search was called off.
Robert “Bob” Noble was a resident of Post Falls, Idaho, and was 41 years old at the time of his disappearance.

Sheriff Chris Hoffman has released the name of the body found west of Conner on Saturday afternoon. The decease has been identified as 57 year old Bob Leavens of Conner. Bob Leavens was reported missing by family on the 14 th of May. A lengthy search of the area had been conducted with no indication of his whereabouts. The remains are currently with the Medical Examiners Office in Missoula. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

On the afternoon of 13 September, investigators from the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office and the U/S Forest Service responded to the area of Hart Bench Road, Conner, to a report of found human remains. The remains were found approximately 5 miles west of Conner near Hart Bench Road. The body was discovered by a passing motorist who called 911 from his cell phone. The body was sent to the Medical Examiners Office in Missoula to determine cause of death and identification. As of this release, the identification is still unknown.

The Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking information about an ATM machine theft from the Stumble Inn bar in Victor on the morning of Monday, September 8, 2008. Unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the bar through the front door and removed a white ATM machine, which was bolted to the floor. Investigators are currently attempting to determine how much money was in the machine. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective Scott Burlingham at 3754060 or Crime Stoppers at 363-0062.
