Ravalli County - Montana

Enrollment

Montana law requires schools to count students twice each year to determine the number of students who are enrolled. The primary enrollment date is taken on the first Monday in October (referred to as the October count) and the secondary count is taken on February 1st (the February count).

The October count is used for several reports, both federal and state, and is primarily used when a district speaks to the number of students enrolled.

The average of the October count and the February count is used to determine the number of students a district has enrolled for the purpose of funding. An adjusting formula is applied to this average to determine a number called the ANB (Average Number Belonging).

Below is the October count for each school in Ravalli County as well as the ANB number used to determine the current year's budget. The ANB for next year will be determined after the February count.
